    I have Codebreaker V. 10 (pelican) how come I cannot load anything into my PS2 (V.4, Fat kind) on my usb??? I have been reading a lot of forums and watching videos on Youtube before I went out to buy Codebreaker. But I guess I bought the wrong Version??? Is there a way to load exploits onto the memory card??? If any one has time to direct me or explain what I need to do please let me know... I have followed tutorials and made my exploit using:

    * ULaunchELF 4.21
    * COGSWAP.ELF
    * Independence compiler 4.1_titlefix
    * Save Builder 0.8x
    * Swap Magic 3.8

    It seems like since I have an older version of PS2 and can't seem to find the right information at all.

    Also my flash drive lights up on the screen when I load it but when I enter into the flashdrive it says "no data". I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I'm not downloading the right files to do this.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    I've tried installing the FREE MCBoot from this tutorial
    http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/en_cb.htm
    but seem to not read "UlaunchELF 396 KB" on the screen, instead on the screen it has some gibberish words and the "KB is 646458". This is my external Hard drive and it also has folders in there that have my documents. It is FAT32 format so I don't need to reformat it right?? I know I am close because at least something shows up when I click my flash drive... Is there another other recommendation is greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks! Bootelgninja!!!

    can you take a picture of your screen when it's like that. I'm having a bit of trouble following on this problem.

    Also, uLE will also measure in bytes on some things.

    One other thing I can think of is that the config file for FMCB is screwed up (using 1.5 is like that.) so I might suggest you hold on for the next release. (will be most likely within a couple days)

    The new release will be MUCH easier to deal with then 1.5 and will allow homebrew booting from menu before the sony browser.

    Also, the USB HDD is in the correct filesystem. FAT32 is the preferred format that uLE and other homebrews use on USB devices.

    I have the photo on the bottom. The first two that says madden, GT3 are memory card games I saved on my HD. I believe it's the launcher that's it's not recognizing because in the tutorial it is after I click on the launcher that I go onto the next step of the Free MCBoot.

    Since I'm following the tutorials. The files I have in the hard drive as of now are:

    UlaunchELF.cbs (I think is showing up gibberish)
    FREE_MCBOOT.ELF (Will show up after ulaunch)

    Thanks in advance!

    Very strange. I just did a clean download of the codebreaker package and it shows up fine on my CB 9.3 (I'd test on 10.0, but I don't have a bootable copy on an unmodded system.)

    Quite possible of a corrupted download, or incompatible hardware.

    I'm going to send you a RAR file via PM. Extract it to the root of your USB device and run swapmagic. that should do the trick for you.

    So what I did was delete the two files from the tutorial:
    UlaunchELF.cbs
    FREE_MCBOOT.ELF

    I then extracted the RAR file to USB. I put the USB into my PS2 but the screen only shows madden, GT3 from my memory card saves. I don't see anything else... Any suggestions??

    Also I should note I'm using 250GB External Harddrive Western Digital as my usb drive... If that could be the reason?

    So basically this is all I've done by now... Purchase codebreaker 10, got the rar file and put it on my USB, then I plugged into ps2 w/codebreaker and that's it. So if I'm missing an important step please let me know...

    Ty it with a smaller drive, or a USB-Stick.
    You might also re-format the HD (...use USB-Extreme/Advance-Tools).

    Actually reformating solved my problem and I was able to follow the whole tutorial... But then I came across another bump...

    After I finished with installing MCBOOT through the tutorial (I only installed it and didn't change anything else). I resetted my playstation but it would go straight to ulaunch, and bypass Browse/System Confi/Launch Free McBoot.

    So then I got frustrated and I was on the MCBOOT screen, so I formated my Memory Card and installed MCBoot again. When I reseted my PS2, I finally saw the Browse/System Confi/"Launch Free McBoot". I put in my backup game and it will only reboot my ps2, back to the Browse/System Confi/"Launch Free McBoot" screen. I don't get any other screen at all even with any games or without...

    Here are the Files that are on my memory card as of now when it just relaunchses over and over after I press "launch free mcboot":

    FMCB-CNF Folder 14KB
    Free McBoot 31KB
    BOOT Folder 9kb

    I have been working on this for a LONG time so any help will be appreciated!

    Search for "ESR".
    It is in the same sub-forum as FMCB.

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/

    FMCB itself is not capable of loading burned discs.
    The next release may be an all-in-one-package.
