sorry i could not find the original post.
I tried doing the trick where you change a elf file on a iso so it will boot ulaunch. more info herehttp://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28441
enyway all went well until i tried swapping the disk. i got to the title and swapped it, the disk spins then if i try to click enything it will show a wrong disk error at the top. im doing the swap right, i swap and play psx games all the time, i looked at numerous tutorials and cant get it to work. I was desperate and made an exact copy of the disk to see if that would work and nope, same crap. I've been trying for about 9 hours straight and im ready to smash my ps2 into pieces.

If you tried doing what works for other people, using the same game to modify and the same version of uLaunchELF (aka: uLE), then the problem must be in some of the work that is hard to ensure that you do exactly the same way, such as how you insert the new elf file into the modified iso file before burning.
I'm also confused by your mention of swapping PSX games (== PS1 games) since the rules for PS1 game swapping and for normal PS1 game launching are entirely different from those of PS2 games, even though some of the mechanics are similar.
If by any chance you tried to use a PS1 game for uLE launching, then that definitely explains the failure, as that is impossible to do. The uLE program can only work in PS2 mode, so you need to modify a PS2 game for booting uLE by this method. And preferably this should be the exact same game that someone else has mentioned as working with this method.

Heres a thread where others have also used that 1-emulation guide for swapping, but they focus more on using it to install FMCB, so check out how they used different apps and PS2 Games.

PS2 Consoles:
SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE

i am trying to install free mcboot through Ulaunch. I am using a dvd. the guide says you have to get to the title screen and then swap the disk. the disk will spin then it will have the no disk error at top. The sensors are blocked and i tried burning over 20 different ways with programs like dvd descriptor and alcohol 120%. Even if i use an exact copy, the same thing happens. I am using Metal gear solid 3 snake eater. maybe this just wont work. i read that it worked for a few people, but still, shouldent it still work when i swap it with the backup? thats how everyone else did it.
