pfff mods, exploids, swaps... could use some advice

As the kids like to throw their CD/DVD's next to the cases instead in the case it would be nice if I could run backup of those instead of buying the game for a second/third time again.

I'm also interested in demo's from the psx scene.

Now the issue is that they have a PS2 slim.

What can be used to boot those backups preferable from a USB device to spare that laser and drive.

If I buy Swap Magic can I then boot a copy of USB Extreme to access my USB device?

Or do I need to buy both to let me work with copies & dumps on USB?

Or are there other solutions that are still easy for a 9 year ol' kid?

I suggest you to use FMCB 1.7 + ESR. ;)

Really easy to use, after properly configured.
You can start your Homebrew-Applications, which are on USB or mc, directly through the original OSD.

(USBAdvance is available as an ELF-File, so you could start it from usb and mc also).

I would recommend FMCB + ESR in connection with patched DVD-Media.
Insert DVD, plugin MC with FMCB and start your PS2, done!
With Fast Boot enabled it evens boots up your game without any interaction.
