Noobie alert

Before I get flamed...yes I checked the search several times. What I would like to do is to play a PAL game on an NTSC console. I am told that swapmagic 3.6 will do this for me...right from the company. I went out and bought the newest version of swap and it does NOT convert the signal at all. Oh the game loads alright but its black screen and flips. Is there a converter I can buy for my tv to correct this problem? I have also been told about boot discs that I can burn that will help me to boot PAL games, but as of yet havent found any. My ps2 is NOT modded, but I do have a fliptop. The game I want to play is socom2,and online,so therefore I cannot patch an iso because it will not let me online with a burned disc. Any help...PUH-LEESE

Did u choose the NTSC option in sm?

Like so (dont use fliptop):
1. boot sm 3.6
2. press eject (tray opens)
3. insert your real socom2
4. press eject (tray closes)
5. move down to the second like and change it to "NTSC"
6. move up to the first line again and press SQUARE botton
7. and it boots?
