A noob needs answers?

Hi to you all first time posting so please bear with me.

I have swapmagic 3.3 and have no problem running backup cd-r games but when it comes to dvd thats a different story. I can't seem to get any to work. My question is do I need to patch them before burning or should I be ok because I have swapmagic 3.3? I think mine dont work because i'm using cheap media but I just wanna make sure that it aint me buring em wrong or something like that?

You are using the Swapmagic DVD disc, right?

Yeah I'm using swapmagic 3.3 dvd disc and I'm using DVD-r media. Says on the discs that these are compatible with consoles but I think that could be the problem?? I'm abit unsure.

any help/advice would be greatly received

what game in particular and what went wrong? like after you got to the dvd swap screen and swapped with a backup it would just have a black screen?

Hi,

I've burnt 3 games so far. gta sa, fifa street, and brothers in arms. Burnt them all the same way and booted the same with swapmagic 3.3. gta actually boots up gets thru the rock star into title music etc... but the just seems to freeze on the title screen. I've left it for ages just to see if ittakes a while to load but it justed stayed on the title screen. The other 2 just dont boot. brothers in arms actually takes me back to the ps2 browser screen. Hope with this info ya can work out what could be wrong?

you are probably using bad dvd-rs, use verbatim or TY

Thats what I thought will have to get some quality one's. Since i'm using swapmagic 3.3 do i still need to patch certain games or is this only if you use swapmagic 2.0?

right just got some decent media (TDK DVD-R).

But then another problem arises, my bloody dvd writer dont like em. Just dont wanna burn em!!! This just gets worse and worse!!!

you have a lite-on burner?

I have a friend that can't use TDK in his, it won't see them.... and worse yet he got some pricy Sony DVD's and could burn them... it said it burned them ok, but they won't work in anything, DVD player, PS2, other PC drives... and get this... after the first data check right after burning... they won't read in the burner anymore...
