Ok, i'm new to all of this i just started reading today actually. Some guy tried telling me that there is a certain way to burn a PS2 game that can be used without a modded PS2 or without using the swapping method. Is this guy full of crap? Is it that easy now? (sorry for the stupid question, i'm a noob)

yeah, most definatly full of crap . U need some kind of gizmotronic to boot a ps2 backup (chip, swap or other).

Sure the dude wasnt talking about Dreamcast games? It sounds a lot like DC selfboot backup

no guys its cause you guys havent been on for as long but there use to be a method called umcdr. it basically makes a ps2 iso in ps2 format but also in audio format. ps2 can run audio cds w/o needing a swap or modchip. im not 100% sure how it works but for booting homebrew cdr, there is a way to do it w/o needing swapping.

Im pretty sure UMCDR/CDX dosnt boot by themselfes. U still need some kind of gizmo (like a exploit) to boot a prg like Ps2menu or RealityPlayer that can read the UMCDR format.

    CDGENPS2 3.0 creates CDX and UMCDR iso-images.
The new Action Replay Max/Evo makes those mp3/divx/genesis UMCD-R's too

yea i know jack what i mean is it can work like this > SOMEHOW you have ps2menu installed as an exploit. once loaded in ps2menu you can just eject it and put in umcdr cd and play it instead of having to swap.
