New in this and questions

Hey, i'm new in the ps2 modding thing, been a while in xbox modding though
But ok, I readed the tut 4 an exploit, but confuses me..
Do I need a modded ps2 in orde 2 get the exploit run? I only have a ps2 for now with MC and network adaptor.. What other stuff u guys suggest? Is a AR good enough? From here:

it says u don't need another usb device 2 tranfer the saves, just put in a cd-r and load from there. What u think? From my xbox exploit experiences, AR gave corrupted saves when the file was large

Also, i found a copy of hdadvance, can i then run apps from some kind of dashboard or something?

I believe with ARmax Evo, you can get your exploit into your MC but I haven't done it so I wouldn't know how to find it but just search this forum or google and you should find it...

max drive works for me, if you have the evo or AR max, I think it should work....... I use launch.elf to run other elfs on my pendrive or HDD...

didn't do any modification...

Yeah, i think i'll use max drive too. But, I have a PAL ps2, and the tut has 3 options:

1. Install with the Exploit Installer CD to run on a modded console.

2. Install Codebreaker (NTSC Only), AR MAX w/wout EVO pendrive, N-Port,
Xploder v4 Software or Sharkport/X-Port.

3. Install using your Retail HDLoader.


Don't have a modded console, nor a retail HDloader.. In other words, no exploit fun for me?


EDIT, if it will work on a Pal, can the maxdrive also put files on regular MC? It's not clear for me on any website, but i suppose so. Just wanna be sure, cuz then i could do it for a friend 2 without him havin 2 buy the max drive

Yes you can put files on regular MC with maxdrive.. You can search here to find the tutorials or ask someone, if not I can help you; and you can PM me...
I suggest do more reading.
With max drive you can put any elf you want on your pendrive(mass), and use launch.elf to run whichever you want...you can even put elfs in your hdd..
-these what I have on my pendrivehdloader,hdadvance,dms tool,mckiller,cogswap(I don't use).
-on my MC i have launch.elf, execftps and faplink... (i just started with networking so i don't know that much yet... )

i have a retail hdloader myself... but its more fun to know how the exploit works.

I forgot to mention, I don't know much about PAL, I guess you need a max drive w/ PAL compatibility....

for the exploit i think just use the BEDATA-SYSTEM for PAL.
