Utmost apologies if this has been asked before or if this is in the wrong place, I really don't lurk around forums very often and made this account strictly to ask this question.

Anyway, I recently set my PS2 up with FMCB and OPL to play games via SMB, as my DVD burner is no longer working. I figured the whole process out on my own and got the network running and a few games working just fine.

Until God of War. Now, I know there was the whole dual-layer disc issue with God of War (or is that GoW 2? My bad, if so) because it's a DVD5 format, so I wasn't really sure GoW would work via SMB. It did.. for a while.

I come to the cutscene after rescuing the Oracle and it freezes mid-scene. I've tried several different compatibility modes via OPL and nothing really seems to work, or even help it progress further. (It ALWAYS freezes after the "When is it going to end?" line, or whatever Kratos' wife's exact words are.)

I've deleted and reinstalled the game with USBUtil and it didn't help, either. I was wondering if patching it would do anything? I really have no idea what the DNAS and IOPRP options are for, so it'd be great if somebody could enlighten me.

Anyway! Down to the point and my question. Does anybody have the same issue with God of War and has anybody figured a way to fix it? I'd appreciate any help on the matter, because I was super bummed when it started freezing. =/

Thanks for the time and any help you guys provide.

    1. You never stated the versions of the applications you use.
    2. It seems you're using a DVD5-Rip of GoW. What's happening, if you try it with your DVD9-Original?
