FMCB supports auto-loading of ESR-patched backups, since FMCB 1.7. 
@mandy: Your ISO is properly patched, because the ESR-Logo shows up (that means, it find the patched disc and also validates it as ESR-Disc and then launch the ESR.ELF, but ESR is unable to do more.).
Try, what "broodje"&"amp2006" told ya and burn your backups to high-quality-media (e.g. Verbatim DVD-R) at mid-speed.
Edit: I just saw, you try to play Sonic Unleashed, which is INCOMPATIBLE with the current ESR-Versions.
Try an older Version of ESR.
