MC Boot exploit question
MC Boot exploit question –
02-22-2009,02:01 AM
Hi everyone,
We managed to get the MC Boot hack installed on a friend's MC, and it played a Dirge of Cerberus (american) backup just fine, but when we tried to run a backup of one of my japanese imports, it gave this "please insert a psx or ps2 format disk". Is the MC Boot exploit compatible with japanese games or are we doing something wrong?

Haha, no I didn't that's probably what went wrong. I'd appreciate if you could give me more information on the matter or where I could find the stuff I need to get those games working.
Thanks

I'm a new user of mcboot and i played normally pes2009[PAL]. I tried also to play nba live 09[NTSC] but the tv screen was blach and white and after i selected the teams the game got stuck in the loading screen while I was waiting to start the match. Did I do something wrong or it's the NTSC system that Ican't play the game normally?

Playing NTSC games on PAL equipment should not cause any extra problems, except the potential irritation of losing colour when you use composite video cables. You will need real RGB cables to get full colour in NTSC games, and this will also improve the picture quality in all PAL games as well.
I have no idea what caused you to 'get stuck' but some very few games are incompatible to ESR, which could explain such a problem.
Btw:
You should NEVER post in someone else's thread with a question that is not closely related to the subject of that thread, or some other subject discussed in that thread. You broke that rule here, which may be acceptable once, but please don't do it again. It is better to post a new thread, than to 'hijack' an unrelated thread this way.

This is a farely easy fix and it only takes like a second or two if you already have the file in iso format. If not there are some great tutorials on youtube on how to make an .iso file. and then all you need is a patch program. google (ps2 pal2ntsc yfix source) it patches the file in seconds so that pal or foreign formats can be played on ntsc equipment (american consoles) good luck!
