Loading an elf from UsbExtreme?
Loading an elf from UsbExtreme? –
I'm not sure if this is possible or not. I was updating my FreeMcBoot and after formatting, I lost power in my house...leaving me with an unexploited Memory card and no way to place the exploit back on...I think. I am home for christmas break and left my swap magic back on campus. Is it possible to run an elf from UsbExtreme? If this is possible I can get to UlaunchELF and work from there. I have tried running swap magic and UlaunchELF (converting them to an .iso and using ul_install to place them on USB.) It shows up as a selection, but when run it just goes black. I don't think there is a way to do this and I'll probably just have to wait until the break is over, but if anyone knows a way, please let me know! I thank you in advance and have a happy new year!
Forget about using USBAdvance/USBExtreme for these purposes, as they only complicate matters needlessly by using the mass: device for CDVD emulation. They are not needed in any case, since you have SwapMagic.

With the USB drive prepared this way, insert it into one of the USB ports of the PS2 and boot up the SwapMagic disc. The SwapMagic software will then automagically boot the uLE elf you stored on the USB drive, and then you can use uLE to run the FMCB installer and/or perform other repairs of the MC content.
If your SwapMagic version is older than v3.6, then it does not support this kind of booting from USB, but you can still use SwapMagic to launch uLE in the same way as you would launch a normal burned game, through disc swapping. Suitable uLE ISO files are available in the subforum for uLE, inside the Homebrew/Dev forum. You will find the uLE ISO files in the same post as the main uLE release package (the first post of the main sticky thread).
Once you have booted uLE through disc swapping you again have the freedom to use uLE as you please, either to launch the FMCB installer or do other work on the MC and USB drive.

Alright, I figured that it wasn't possible. I guess I'll have to wait until I get back from Christmas break to fix it since I left my swap magic back on campus. Thank you though!
