instead of using swap disks and slide cards cant i just take the top off my ps2??

i dont really wanna use the slide cards or buy swap disks. can i just take the top off of my ps2, then take the top of the disk drive off, take the cd out, then replace it?? can i just do that instead?

yes u can! but u still need a BOOT DISK or a exploit AT LEAST lol ^^

wen the ps came out they did this timed swap.. which mite be dangerous to the PS2 lol.. since u hafta switch it while it's spin'n really really fast heh

well if u can get the exploit work'n good for u ^^

but leav'n the ps2 open can be dangerous.. stuff can get in.. (dust.. water.. bugs? younger children)

also u hafta be careful of the cables esp the ones that connect to the eject and power buttons heh

ive fixed many ps2's, so i know exactly what im doing with opening it up. im trying to set up my mc exploit with action replay max. and im reading a tutorial that you gotta swat the disks. and i havent been able to use the slide card right, so i wanna just open the top out to do this.

man this stuff is way too hard for me. i dont know what im doing. i am lost at this part: i was following the lookatthemonkey guide and im at the part after it told me to burn the first disk with the BIN and CUE files on the disk. i loaded up my action replay disk, and opened up the top of my ps2 and inserted the burned cd disk. nothing happens after that. its like a black screen or something. i dont remember what happened. this sucks. any tips?

well your not going to be able to boot up that burned disc if you dont have sm or a mod chip

OKay let me tell you what to do..... do you have Ar max Evo that comes with the usb pen drive? If you do then your in luck. If you don't buy one (max drive $29.99) or find someone who has it.

Then just make a save with savebuilder with the exploit inside. Then copy it over to MC. Thats it. no opening ps2 or swapping nothing.

or you could use XPORT like I did. I have installed the exploit in all of my friends PS2's and I didn't have to open any of them. I also looked for the blueprint and dimension of the slide card and i made all of my friend's using old credit cards, library cards, or any plastic that could do it.

i no the exploit came out like 2 years ago.. and i did hear bout the save thing.. lol just neva firgured how :-p

well since i alrdy got the exploit installed and the ftp elf i don't really need xport anymore ^^ (cept for game saves i dl off the web? hehe)

since u need to refresh the toc wit a dvd game to play dvd backups and also some games mite not work (like splinter cell -_- ) even wit cdloader and such..
