How to play PS2 DVD Backups with ONLY Fliptop, NO need for SwapMagic originals!

I found out a way last night to play backups WITHOUT Swap Magic original disks.. I'm not sure if it has been posted before by anyone else, but I was helping a friend with his PS2 and after working all day figured out how to boot PS2 DVD Backups with only having a fliptop case.


Needed things:

1. Fliptop Case
2. Cog Loader Swap elf (for your memory card exploit)
3. A *COPY* Of Swap Magic 3.6 CD version
4. High TOC game (Gran Turismo 3) works
5. PSX Trigger CD for Memory Card Exploit



Okay, say you have everything running, your PSX Trigger cd loads the exploit . Use the cog loader swap to boot the Swap Magic 3.6 CD. Once it boots, Press Circle O to refresh to a High TOC Game, Put in Gran Turismo 3 (by ejecting the front and then placing the GT3 in. It will spin up, then use the fliptop to place in your PS2 DVD Backup game and it will boot...

No question, just comment. You really do not need step 3 at all. Simply load cogswap with a high TOC original game in the drive (aka GT3, God of War, Xenosaga, etc...) then let it load the TOC, and when the screen says "Use Cogswap" just replace the original with the backup. Bam, voila, done.

Oh, I do remember now... I read that somewhere, But it would not work for some reason on my friend's PS2. At first I didn't think his PS2 was going to read anything on a DVD format at all.. It would spin funny and stop. But your right, I guess it has been discovered before. But, This way worked flawless each time for him thx for the comment, hopefully this will help some people out.

but you need swapmagic or some retail cheat divice to put the exploit onto your mc then after that you won't have to use it again

how to start swapmagic 3.6 without a chip and the ORIGINAL cds?
