Hello everyone, I recently bought this PS2 slim model (70004). Tried to boot a legit copy of SOCOM US Navy Seals but the DVD drive seems to be broken. Not a big problem since I also own a modified Memory Card with Free McBoot which contains Open PS2 Loader to boot my games.

Now I used this 2,5" laptop harddrive in an external case which uses only 1 USB port. I installed a game (.iso format) on the drive with USB Extreme.
After installing the game I connected the drive and booted Open PS2 Loader 0.8 but it doesn't seem to be working since it doesn't show the USB drive menu.

What am I doing wrong? It would be great if someone has a solution!

    Greets,
    Miquel

The drive was not formatted to FAT32, formatted the drive again and I'm hoping that it will work now after reinstalling the game.

I will also take a look at the "USBUtil" ISEKO utility. Thank you for helping!

Dude... Read the OPL-Tutorials! They are linked on every page on this site.

You need to activate the device in the settings...

Btw.: You can use ISO up to 4GB, directly with OPL's USB-Mode.

I got it working last night. Only one more thing; do you guys recommend a USB HDD with a power supply or a simple USB HDD drive with only a USB connector?

The video's (cutscenes) are lagging, game itself works fine though.

It's better to use one with an external power-supply (for various reasons).
But a USB-HDD which also works correctly with a Y-Cable might work better with one, than with a straight USB-Connection (powered by only one USB-Port).

The video's (cutscenes) are lagging, game itself works fine though.
    Yepp, that's quite normal...
But it depends on the game; the game-loader; the compatibility-settings; the device; used AND how well the device works in USB 1.1-Mode!

Ok, thank you for the info. I'll prepare a 2nd 3,5" HDD with a power supply then.
