I found out why the emulator didn't work I was using a old version of the uLaunchELF.
But anyways I still can't launch uLaunchELF it just resets the whole PS2. It worked before. I delete boot.elf from the INSTALL folder in my USB Flash Drive.
EDIT: That is weird I can launch uLaunchELF if I take out my USB flash Drive out of the PS2 but if its inside when I launch uLunachELF it restarts my PS2.
Are you ABSOLUTELY certain that the file in question was named "boot.elf" and not "BOOT.ELF" ?Quote:

Because no normal FMCB installation should ever have had a file named "boot.elf" in that folder.
The proper name to use for the main boot file in that folder is always "BOOT.ELF" using upper-case letters only.
That is not so strange as it might seem. Once it is properly installed FMCB is able to read both CNF files and elf files from USB as well as from MC, and apparently you have some files on that USB drive that conflict with the configuration on MC.Quote:

You need to clean those files out, in order to use that USB drive with the PS2 for non-install purposes, and without having it affect your FMCB installation on MC. Now that the installation is complete you want the MC setup to rule unaffected by the USB drive, which you can now use for entirely different purposes instead. (Media playing, backup games, gamesave backup, etc.)

OK. I suspected as much. But since character case is always significant in all PS2 filesystems you need to be precise in how you write file and folder names in discussing PS2 related issues. Wrong use of character casing is responsible for a large part of all user errors. So whenever you mistakenly mention a file using the wrong character case, this will side-track the discussion of the current problem down a 'blind alley'.Quote:

But FMCB does look for config files in the root of the USB drive. So if you have a FREEMCB.CNF file there, that could really mess things up.
And FMCB also looks for all of the standard elfs in "mass:/BOOT/" in preference to the similar paths on MC. So if you have a broken such elf on USB, then that will be used in preference to a good such elf on MC, thus crashing the console with USB inserted.
You should make sure that you don't have any CNF files in the root of the USB drive, and possibly also that you don't have any "BOOT" folder on that drive. And if you ever made any experiments with "RESCUE.ELF" in the USB root, now is a good time to get rid of such files too, since they would override anything else.
If you don't want to get rid of the stuff completely, you can always copy it to some folder on a PC HDD instead. Or even let it remain on the USB drive, but renamed by a PC so that the PS2 will no longer care about the names (like renaming "BOOT" to "BOOTx" which FMCB will ignore).

Done thanks everything works fine. I now have a ISO of a game I want to play how am I supposed to patch it with the ESR what should I download step by step instructions will be nice.

Anyways I downloaded the ESRPatchJava v0.2.4. And when I want to patch the game it says ISO doesn't contain UDF descriptor.

use ESR GUI and where did you got that ISO ?
I tried ESR GUI didn't work. I don't think I am allowed to tell you where I downloaded the ISO.
