help~my PS2 can't boot after change settings –
04-11-2006,03:19 AM
Today when i start my ps2, i press some button suddenly bring me to a menu called "matrix" then i change the boot setting to "dvd" from auto, and save it. later on when i press reset, the console can't detect my ps2 disc.
Then, when i switch off whole console and on it back, the screen is black without any booting animation. after i press reset once, the play station booting screen comes out but it keep on asking to insert ps2 disc.
after i browse internet i found that i'm using "Matrix Infinity 1.68", and press triangle+round can bring me to that menu. so i change back the setting to original one.. but it still remains same.
can anyone help me on this?

Are you unable to read PS2 backups, or originals?
Try holding down the "Cross" button when booting up the PS2, this is for "Auto" booting. If you still can't play any of your backups that way (if that's your problem), then you MAY have a cloned Matrix Infinity chip, at least that's what it sounds like.
Hardware: PS2 v7 (GH-022) NTSC | Crystal Chip 2.0 Pro SLE | Sony Network Adapter | 300GB Segate HDD
Software: uLaunchELF 4.40 | HDLoader 0.8c | HDL_Dump 0.8.6+GUI | SMS 2.9 (Rev.3)
My Projects: uLaunchELF - skins/template | skin template readme | documentation (contributor)

thanks anyway, i'll take the console to repair shop tomorrow.. i bet it would be a clone chip, i found that somebody in another forum told me doing any setting in the menu will fry the clone chip.

Hahaha, it is indeed a clone modchip. I also got the same problem after I change the setting in the modchip configuration. Solution? Buy another new one
although it really cheap. For your information, your "MATRIX" modchip is actually named "Modbo". Just never go into the menu of the modchip and flash it.
