Ghost Switch for PSTwo
anyone got this? You gotta use it with Swap Magic 3.3...but if it is as easy to use it as it seems then this must be a nice choice for people who dont want to mod their ps. If anyone got this then how is it working with dvd-r dvd+r cd-r etc etc. More about it here: http://www.clearxbox.com/site/pages/prods/pstwo_gc.html
what mod chip would be an alternative if i only want to play games/back-ups on it...self booting would be nice lol :D

Looked around a bit at other forums and its pretty much the "tape down 2 switches"-way of keepin' the lid closed ... but with a switch so u can turn it on/off.
Good stuff:
With the ghosty u can do both real eject/close and swap and so u will be able to refresh the toc ... and use cd/dvd/cogswap-loader and play all those dvdrips or backups with fixes .... pretty much everything u can do on a "old" ps2 and a fliptop :D
Bad stuff:
Its basicly a mod, so your warranty is void even if u open up the PsTwo and keep the sticker on (its possible - sticker acts as a hinge-ish)... u still have to do the "clip off the peg"-mod.
Franzkics over at the Afterdawn forum posted how 2 make your own "Ghost switch":
"A homemade switch hold-down can easily be made with a piece of thin board ( index card is perfect) cut a strip of 3 mm wide, insert the strip into the hole with a piece of q-tip with the cotton part cut off. until it hits bottom - this activates the switch. While holding the q-tip down, fold the sides of the strip and tape both side so it stays in place, trim excess strip and tape, do the same to the other swicth and voila...This method will keep the switch depressed at all times and still allow the pegs to go through the holes. No modification whatsoever to the unit."
