Hi, I need a bit of help on installing Free MC Boot. First off, I have this:

    ~ PSTwo Slim, SCPH-77001
~ PSP Slim W/ USB Cable and 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (For USB)
    ~ Gameshark 2 V1.3, Broadband Enabled
~ 3 Official Sony MagicGate 8MB Memory Cards

Yes, I know Gameshark isn't much reliable but it's the only disc I can get around here. (Gamestop and Wal-Mart doesen't sell Codebreaker or Action Replay Max/EVO anymore here.)

What would be the best way to install the exploit?

(Would burning the exploit explained on http://www.bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/ work if I used the Gameshark as a boot disc w/ PSTwo sensor modded? Or 'am I S.O.L?)

    Any help is appreciated.

    Kay thanks.

Does it have to be FMCB 1.6, 1.7, or 1.8?

This may sound stupid but when do I have to swap with the burned CD-R?

No, unforunately, you can't use the Gameshark method outlined in the tutorial. It involves using the "Independence exploit", which can only be performed using a phat PS2. Codebreaker, ARMax EVO w/ Media Player, and Swap Magic will work with slim PS2s.

Damn man my bad. I read over your post to fast, and thought you had a fat PS2. Anyway if you can't buy any of those around you , you could send me your card and I could install it for you. PM me and let me know. Your in NC, it would only take 2 days to get it here and 2 days back. Let me know. I been around here for awhile, but most of the time over on SKSApps. DJ

If you want to risk damaging your lens and/or discs, you can attempt to swap the old school way when its asking you to place the game disc in, but with cheats off.

Its been a long time i did that trick, so im a bit rusty on the exact time frame you have to make the switch before the console "resets" itself to re-read the disc for an authentication again. Maybe like 5-10 seconds or close to that....there not much time to make the swap, but it does work.

I've never really done that swap trick thing and it does, indeed look scary to do, haha.

I'd get an Action Replay Max but I doubt the ones on Codejunkies have the Max Media Player. Codebreaker costs like $50 everywhere I looked online.

Im not sure it would work, but it sounds as risky as what i posted above.

If that way of swapping would work, why put in a backup of Codebreaker when you can just put in a CD of the Free McBoot installer from the CD tutorial?
