If you download PS2 Save builder, open the .max file, save it as a .xps file, open the .xps file, and finally resave it as a .max file it should be fine (Looks like some file was missing in the original .max file). Use AR-MAX and uncrush the new .max file onto the memory card.
Independence Compiler 3 is out (You should know unless you've had your head under a rock)
Anyway it'll make the independence compiler cd, or an XPS file (which can be converted to max)
All you need is to provide it with: title.db codes (From a ps1 disc)
a loader (or use the built in launchelf)
elf/irx application files (for example a media player)
And that's it - it'll create the rest and pop out an ISO :-) (or an XPS file!)
I used the Independence Compiler 3.0 and it didn't work quite well for me. I got it to install the files to my memory card but when I put in the trigger disc, it just goes as normal and loads the PS1 game.
Thanks so much for the tutorial, went through a couple cds, but finally got the right things on and installed. My problem now is that when I run my psx game it goes to a white screen and thats all. Im using the first method with swap magic discs. Please help if you know what I should do to fix this.
Problem with the exploit. No boot.elf, or corrupted title.db.
Just try independence compiler http://www.ausdigital.net/independencecompiler.php direct download.
P.S ps2newz_209 did get the exploit going. the problem was the titlecode entered.
Independence compiler has a 100% success rate. The only inaccuracies are those caused by the user which we can sort out in no time
thanks for the help. I downloaded the compiler and worked great. the only other problem I had after that was burning an image with the instructions it gave for nero. I then used cdgenps2 and everything was gravy after that. Appreciate it.
I'm trying the exploit through my Codebreaker via a flash drive and I don't think the PS1 games I have are in the TITLE.DB file that is located in the BADATA-SYSTEM.cbs file, because when I place my trigger disc in my PS2 the regular game loads. I was looking for a way that I could edit it but I was unsuccessful. If anyone could help me out (either by telling me how to edit it or editing it for me), I would greatly appreciate it. The game i would like to use as my exploit trigger is FIFA 2000 and the disc-ID is SLUS-00994.
EDIT: Nevermind, I found a different PS1 game that works lol. Disregard this post.

I have a question about your tutorial for making a exploit cd for PS2...I already have a keylauncher program for my PS2...I have it on a memory card and I use Madden 98 to boot it up...on the card I have HD advance v1 and HD loader. I usually use HD advance for all my games. Well I been reading through the threads about how u can get Soul Cal 2 to work on it using a patch. Funny I have SC2 and I also got God Of War from blockbuster. I cant seem to get them to work and I dont know how I would go about gettin the patch on my system. I guessin I have to make a CD to do so, Im just making sure that is what I need to do. I read your tutorial to make a exploit Cd. Supposely this will help me play more games. I am tryin to do part two and I cant seem to drag those elements to the program CDGen...Im asking what can I do to get those games to work from your stand point. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Just download the latest version of HDloader and put it on your memory card by burning it on a cd or which ever method you use.
Hi thanx for the guide. I have been trying to use this but so far have not been able to get the ftp part to work.
My Ps2 is the 3000 model and is currently not modded, am using HD Advance with Maxtor HD to back up my games and have not had problem playing these.
Was trying to get the ftp sytem to work but when I added all the files to CDGenPS2 and make the image, transfer the image over using WinHIIP, all is fine so far.
I load up HD Advance and can see the FXP image on the list of games, I select the image and it starts to run the ExecFTp programme but doesn't say at the bottom of the screen that port 21 is open, so am unable to connect to the PS2.
Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong as have tried this a few times and still having no joy???
