Exploit question –
So am new to this ps2 exploits, i am coming from the xbox scene and made my own installers and i am very familier with this thematics. IĀ“ve read the forums and from my understanding it is not possible to boot directly into modded state using an exploit. You have to use a mc card. My question is why? What does the ps2 do while booting? I am searching for a way to exploit something in the bootsequence of the ps2 running then an exploit. First the exploit will have to be transfered to the hd but this good be done over the ps1 gamesave exploit. Somebody can help?
Simply because the only non-volatile writeable memory on the PS2 is the memory card or hdd (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so in order to store an exploit it must be on the memory card. The reason why it will not start automatically is because nobody has publicly delved into MagicGate (Sony's memory card encryption for updates that are stored on the memory card), and if that was done, code could easily be executed when the system boots. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but how else do those dvd player updates work :P)
So there is not found yet any exploitable file of the boot sequenze. So there is no realy automatic boot exploit . Another question. if i have the mc card with the exploit files on it, is it easy just using the psp2 to transfer the content to a second mc card?
