i installed the exploit and it boots keylauncher. it says L3 boots a ps1 backup (v9 only). mine's v9, but when i try to boot a ps1 backup it does get to the old red "P" logo, the SCEA logo, but it always freezes there. what's the deal? i tried using cogswap that is included in the exploit but can't get it to work for ps1 games, only ps2. it just spins the disc when i hit X and never stops or does anything else.

The ps1 original has to be bigger than the backup

yeah, know, but i tried really small backups, like my megadrive emulator, and i tried games that i figure are small, like tetris. and i tried armored core and nfs as the originals, and i'm sure one of em has to be bigger than th megadrive disc.

I'm having the same problem. I was wondering if it might be my laser which I rarely use other than for my trigger disc. Can anyone comment on this? I can only get up to the PS logo where it just freezes after about a minute of loading.

btw I have a v9 ps2 and used ulaunchelf to boot to browser

btw, i also tried using some method where you use one of the media player apps to return to the ps2's browser. it goes to the browser and shows a valid ps1 disc inside even tho it's the backup. but i still get the same freezing problem when i launch the game.

I think i made some progress by booting FF V on my ps2. I booted up ULE, ejected my psx trigger disc and re-inserted it so the ps2 would detect, then I swapped with my backup psx game, and finally booted to browser to load it up. The problem is i can't boot up games >400mb. I guess my problem might just be a high toc psone game. Hopefully this is it.

PS: Can I get some help on which psx games have the best ToCs. I hear games like Tekken have a high toc but im not really sure. I need suggestions. Thanks in advance ^^.

I HAD BEEN USING kEYlAUNCH, SO I TRIED UlAUNCHER THIS TIME. SAME PROBLEM. I GET TO THE PS2 BROWSER WITH IT SHOWING A GOOD DISC, LOAD IN A BACKUP AND IT FREEZES AT THE ps LOGO. I KNOW toc IS LOWER FOR THE BACKUP TOO.

sorry about caps. just noticed it and too lazy to rewrite...

I have a feeling the problem is either the way I'm burning my psx game or the type of cd-r im using. I used alcohol 120 and nero to burn images in raw dao mode and cheap verbatim cd-rs to burn it on. I need to experiment with different methods but i'm feeling kind of cheap lol.

Anyone have high success rate with this method of booting psone games? I can only boot FF V rarely which i find slightly odd. Thanks for any help in advance.
