ESR with Xploder –
10-08-2008,06:31 PM
I just figured out that Xploder causes lag in many of my games for some reason. So I'm dropping this project. If anyone wants to try it out go ahead, but it causes my PS2 to freeze when doing "special effects" in many games. (Hulk ultimate destruction won't even load because of it, god of war 2 has major lag in videos, etc...)
Oh well.
Hello all. New to the forum here
Alright, here's the deal. After a few days of reading and trying things, I finally installed Free MCboot on my MC. (Needed a friend's CD swapdisk as I had lost mine.) Now, everything works fine.
What I now want to do is use the Xploder.elf to play my games on my computer screen. I already have the necessary hardware to plug on my monitor but the image isn't right as I have to use a "modified" 480i signal just to see a screen. However the screen is highly distorted and is used only to configure the few games that output at 480p. (Using the X2VGA2 from Neoya for those who want to know.)
The Xploder.elf forces the playstation into a 480p output, or bigger if you want. (requires a screen that you can adjust as the image is compressed if higher than 480p or 576p for pal tv's)
The trouble is that the Xploder.elf is a program that I need to run before any game. So I can't run ESR then Xploder or vice versa. Now, I can simply use my swapmagic disk with Xploder, but I'd love to find a workaround for the ESR + Xploder combo if at all possible.
I'll continue trying out things but my technical savoir faire is limited when it comes to this. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S: The xploder.elf file is a little under 5mb (157KB compressed) if someone needs it. I can e-mail it easily.
P.S: Also, for anyone with a HDTV, it might make the image better if you use this instead of letting your tv upscale. Though I'd read up on the product to see if it's worth the hassle for you.
Thanks in advance
