I have a v14 ps2 and I just recently installed free mc boot and esr on my memory card. It will load my backups randomly. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. I have taken my ps2 apart and cleaned it very well and I also cleaned the lens with alcohol and q tips. I used a flashlight to check the lens and I don't see any scratches at all. It's nice and clean. when it does load a back up it will play it flawlessly. Is there anything else I can do? Could there have been something wrong with the installation?

It could be a glitch in the ripping process, or burning process. DJ

I seen other people experience this before on youtube. Sometimes it'll load and sometimes it just doesn't want to. When I backed up my retail copy of Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, it loaded very slow on first try and when finally going to start a game, it froze on a black screen. I reset the console and it worked flawlessly.

Also, don't forget, sometimes a simple re-burn fixes a problem.

I've had similar problems with custom gh2. Sometimes a few songs dont work, I restart and the song works..

    Nope.

    A mid-speed is good usually.
    Search the forums.
The infos, why, what, where and who are plastered everywhere.

You have no idea how happy I am that mid-speed is ok. Ive been doing the slowest speed thing for way way too long. Ive read a lot of you guys on here do mid. or half the max speed. Sounds good to me, and since ive tryed it with about 20 DVD's so far, i have not had any read errors on movies or games.

It's like Dlanor says time and time again, You gotta look at media like 35mm camera film. Too much exposure and (laser left on it too long) is just as bad a too little (too fast a burning speed). So Mid-Range burning on the media = perfect for most media. Since I started doing it like that I haven't had a problem with my media either
