    @link433:
    If you really have a v1 console (SCPH-100xx) then that is probably responsible for several deviations from normal console behaviour, as that model does not have a 'normal' bios compared to all later models. Many important IRX modules are missing from this bios, and to a PS2 those serve purposes similar to some of the 'dll' files of a PC.

    It is not at all surprising that a lack of some important system drivers can cause problems. In fact it is most surprising that you don't report even more serious problems, like others with that console model have, which makes me question if it really is a v1 console that you have.

    Please state exactly what your console product code is.

    Also, the boot process description you wrote in post #10 above does not match the descriptions you made earlier, where you had to launch the game via uLaunchELF. Does this mean that you had a different ESR elf installed earlier (the 'mcard' variant) which you later replaced (by a 'dvdv direct' variant) before the tests described in post #10 ?

    Best regards: dlanor

    No, I never had to launch it from ULE... when ESR runs, it brings up the ULE screen...

    30001 R is the model number on the bottom of the unit...

    Here's the YouTube to clear up what happens... you can see yourself!

    Nothing? Been a while, and no one's reponded...

    but a bit of an update... if I have a disc in the drive when I boot up my PS2 now, FreeMcBoot won't load past the splash screen... I have to flip the power switch in back, flip it back on, take the disc out, and it still takes a good 30 seconds to load FreeMcBoot. Then a good 2-3 minutes for it to read the disc to launch ESR, and half the time it'll go to the PS2 browswer screen and I have to manually select the DVD to launch ESR, and the other half it'll load itself.

    Just wondering if this is normal.

    I would say first off dont use Sony media DVD. also if it is taking you 7 min to load a game via ESR you may wanna look into a HD to attack to your net adaptor. also try burning at 1x as i did with my import of namco x capcom.

    the only game i have loading time issues is with guitar hero world tour and thats cause its dvd 9 and my laser is not the best as my console is a scph-3001. its pretty old.
