Hope this is in the right place...

When I start ESR, it usually takes like 3 mintues to start it up, then it still goes to the uLaunchELF screen, and I have to select the SL*****.** file to run the games I put in...

THEN!!! I get a weird flashing, in every color of the rainbow... it goes like BLUE, GREEN, PURPLE, WHITE, RED, ORANGE... takes another 30 seconds, then boots the game...

In all, it takes a good 7 minutes from the time I turn on my PS2 to the time I get the game started...

    Is that normal??

Which process did you use to install FMCB?
Do you have the most current version FMCB 1.8b?
When you start up your PS2, without a game in the drive it will go straight to the Browser Screen.
If you use this package here :
    http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials...r_dummies.html
If you use that installer there you can start up you PS2 with the game in the tray and ESR will boot the game up automatically. Please try it that way it will work. DJ

    I have a v1 PS2 (phat)
I used the PS1 exploit to get uLaunchELF to run, and used it to install FreeMcBoot (1.8b)

When I start the PS2 with the game in the drive, it still takes a good 5 minutes, and still gives the flashing colors before the game starts, and it still goes to the ULE browser screen for me to select the game...

I'm playing just 3 games right now. Kingdom Hearts 1, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, and Digimon World Data Squad.

    All 3 games do this.

I got to say " DAMN " if you got a Ver.1 and it still works. Your Laser is probably needing a good cleaning or possibly wore out. Try to use a Lens Cleaner Disk on it and if that doesn't work you might want to look into another Laser, they are pretty cheap, but you could also pick up another PS2 at just about any Pawn shop. My Diagnosis on this is that your laser just doesn't have the strength to read your burned disks. Or ??? What type of DVD's are you using? The quality of media might also prove faulty. Try Verbatim, Sony. DVD-R. Good Luck DJ

The flashing colors are normal. I still think your laser might be rough. Try to burn them @4x. DJ

you are using esr mc version change it to esr direct version. Then start esr from fmcb, not from ule.

    Games should start faster.

When I turn on my PS2 with a burnt game (patched of course), I get the FreeMcBoot screen... it'll stay there for a good 2 minutes... then I'll get the ESR screen... it'll stay for 4-5 seconds, then black screen for 3-4 mintues... then it'll flash all the colors, give me the browser screen, then I select the game, it'll flash the colors agian, and then let me play.

I'm going to make a video and put it on YouTube to show you guys what I mean... it's hard to explain.
