ESR in Boot folder on memCard
ESR in Boot folder on memCard –

I used the memory card exploit to get the ESR and MCBoot onto my memory card. Now when I put in backup games they boot right away, however, when I put in my ps1 trigger disk to get to ulaunch.elf i get stuck on a purple screen. My question is, is there anyway to get to ulaunch.elf with the ESR in my boot folder on my memory card?
Also I was wondering if this method was compatible with devil may cry 1. I have tried 2 backups and each time it freezes right after the capcom screen. The dvds im using have worked on 4 other backups so I wouldn't think its the dvd quality but maybe.
Thanks in advance.

yeah i think that if you have the fmcb you dont need the ps1 triger disc any more. just install the ulauncher.elf file in side your usb or ps2 memory card under the boot folder if you do have it just make it. then you have to rename ulauncher.elf file to boot.elf. it should auto launch it if you press anything on your ps2 controller. and you can also put the esr file there and rename it boot1.elf and when you turn on your ps2 hold r1 on your ps2 controller and it should auto launch esr. if it dont work then it should you to the ps2 broswer. i hope that help your problem. thats the way i do it on my v7 phat and v12 slim.

@ben dover:
Please be more careful about the filenames you tell people to use. As you must be aware, character case is always significant for filenames on the PS2, so the names "boot.elf" and "boot1.elf" that you recommended will not work. FMCB is looking for names with all uppercase letters, so the names you should have recommended are "BOOT.ELF" and "BOOT1.ELF".
This is extra important when dealing with 'newbs', as most of them will have no experience with filesystems where character case matters (as it does not in Windows).
