ESR is for Play patched Backups DVDs
Sorry, what is ESR?
ESR is a homeberw that is able to play patched DVD backups without Need a modchip or swap Tricks like swap magic
500 INSTALLS DONEI am bored, so I will again fill you in.
ESR is actually 2 programs. You need both of them.
The PC tool, ESR disc patcher is used to patch a PS2 ISO file so that the resulting burned disc looks (to the PS2) like a DVD movie. You have to use it to patch every PS2 ISO you make before you burn it to a DVD.
The PS2 app ESR, is used to load a DVD game disc patched with the above tool.
It is ran from the PS2 "dash" like an application. You have to launch this app to play a game from the disc drive.
The game .ISO patcher :

And ESR is in the noobie package found here on the forums, or in my signature.

500 INSTALLS DONEdude PS2 itself cannot run any backup or homebrew unless you have a way to run it like Swap tricks or Cheat Device
Hi everyone,
I wanted to play some backup games on my PlayStation 2 Slim PAL(SCPH-70004 bought on December of 2005), but there are a few things that I'm missing...
I've done the Tape-tissue method so I can run DVD's with the tray opened, so far, so good.
I want to know, if it is possible to run backup games with this console, using FMCB, and how could I do it.
I have everything. A PSX original disk(Though it's scratched and the game isn't fully playable, it does boot), a Memory Card, some DVD+R discs and it boot's with the tray opened.
Is someone will to help me, please? I would be VERY thankfull...
Thanks in advance,
EmPtYsOuL
