consequences for pirating minors?

Ok I have a problem, I know a kid who's only like 16 years old and he pirates dvd's and games I told him that it's against the law but he doesn't think there's any consequences for minors who do this. so I went online to see and I got to say I couldn't find anything, I know there's a 250,000 dollar fine and five years for adults who do this. But what about minors? If there is no consequences for kids who rent dvds or games and keep the copies they make, then I wish I was still that young. But I really don't want him to get in trouble so any help will be appreciated

In this day and age anyone over the age 0f 10 can be tried as an adult.... expescially for something like this... and only now is it pursed... back in the day I did a crapload of coping... now I do the same amount it's just tracable... which is how they catch ya....

As long as he's not sharing online or selling he is in little danger....
