Cheapest for Ind. Exploit

I have been researching on how to do the Independence Exploit and have been trying to find a way to get around purchasing a commerical product to do the exploit.. But since there isn't, what would be the cheapest commerical product to use for this exploit? I was thinking about purchasing the Max Drive since I saw it at $10 USA. Another question before I go read some more, after a successful exploit install, would PS2Menu be able to read/run backups off the HDD or would I need to purchase HDLoader for this? You can run HDLoader from the memory card and play back-up games from the HD once you have the independence exploit working.

BTW, once you get it, thats all you need to load exploit with HD loader elf.

I guess I just cant figure out all the exploit stuff even though I read most of it. I have an Unmodded V7 PS2 and the retail HD Loader 1.0 bought cd and a 120gb Maxtor, and AR MAX (without the usb stick). How can I just load up the Patched 0.7c HDL with what I have? Doesnt it seem a million times easier to just buy a new HD Advance 3.0 to play the newly patched games?

Why not make a CD that installs the exploit and HDl 0.7c, and use your retail hdloader to rip the disc to the hd. Then run that from the HD to install them. After that you won't need the retail HD loader, and just use your trigger disc to load the latest HDL.

i bought a $3 used psx game to trigger the exploit. just go to your local game shop and buy a copy of mario andretti racing or crash bandicoot or something.

Check out this... I made an image that can be installed to the HDD with WinHiip..... then ran with the HD Loader CD... then from there install all the software to get you on your way...

I've needed to update the thread to include the new image... because the newer versions of uLaunch Elf have the FTP and IPCONFIG.DAT maker...

HDAdvance is not upgradable...

Not it is not, but with it, you can install an exploit which allows you to use HDLoader 0.7c and future upgrades.
