answer topic please
you cannot boot a backup of it, since it is a dvd and the swap magic is a cd.
they are both identical, just the TOC is the different. there isn't any reason to boot one wit the other.
u can always boot cdloader (or cogswap) and then refresh it's toc.![]()

i didn't really understand that. So is there a way i can boot dvd's?
In the old days when people only had swapmagic dvd v 2.0 and cd v3.0 , many people had problems bootin sm CD v 3.0. Back the u couldnt tocswap offa the sm dvd 2.0, so it was really importent to somehow be able to tocswap. So people did 2 things:
1. bootin' the cd using the dvd first (yes it usually works)
2. using dvd-loader and then toc-swap in your real high toc cd (breaker pro - cd)
But your problem is kinda the opposite, u wanna boot the dvd with the cd - and it cant be done, sorry - I suspect some kind of protection is keepin it from bootin'
So how do i boot dvd-backups using only the sm cd?
u need to do the toc swap like so (old ps2):
1. boot sm cd
2. press eject (tray opens)
3. insert the largest REAL ps2 dvd u got
4. press eject (tray closes and disc spins down)
5. swap in your backup dvd+-r.
6. press x (and it boots)
on the new slimline ps2:
1. boot sm cd
2. swap in cd-loader (from www.swapmagicfix.com)
3. press x (cd-loader boots)
4. press TRIANGLE
5. insert the largest REAL ps2 dvd game u got
6. press TRIANGLE
7. press x (disc spins down)
8. swap in your backup dvd+-r
9. press x (and it boots)
