OK.. so now we have the icon you made, the history file, TITLE.DB, and icon.sys files.
Plus by now you should have decided and placed the needed files you want on your MC...
Ok setting up Keyauncher as your boot program.
This one needs configured from the PC side of things.... you know that wonderful little file you put into SaveBuilder called KL.DAT... we need to edit that.
Now open up NOTEPAD or a program like it and edit the file.
Notice all of the keys are represented in the file triangle, square, circle,X, R1 - R3, and L1 - L3.
This is the common command structure of the program.
mc0:/directory/PROGRAM.ELF;Name you want displayed
So booting HD Loader from "X" would be like so (If you have HD Loader in the system Directory on a USA Console)
Go ahead as setup all the files that you want in KeyLauncher and then save the KL.DAT file.
Here is a nifty command line to get to the PS2 Browser Screen..
rom0:OSDSYS BootBrowser;PS2 Browser
NOTE: This is case sensitive... make sure you get these right or you'll cry later... like five seconds after booting the exploit.
And now for making the file the booting application when firing up the system. You need to rename KL.ELF as BOOT.ELF and that's it. Now delete the KL.ELF and KL.DAT from the SaveBuilder windo and insert these two new files.
Now that's done... see how simple that is.... why couldn't anyone else explain it that nicely .. LOL
NOTE: Version 4 and above now support configuriing through the Start button... Then you can point to an elf to assign to a button or assign to the default elf to load and set a time for it.
This one is nicer in the fact that it has more power and can be configured at run time and not needing configured before.
Simply rename LAUNCH.ELF to BOOT.ELF and copy the BOOT.ELF file over to SaveBuilder. Presto it's ready to be your boot application. We will go over configuring the app when we boot it up for the first time.
Just letting you know that Launch Elf keeps its configuration file in the SYS-CONF directory on your MC... We will be building this save as well so that it will not show up as CORRUPTED DATA in the PS2 Browser using the file I attached earlier to the tutorial.
I will do a quick overview of this one as well some of you may want to use this one... It has less features than Launch Elf and is more difficult to operate, but like I said you may want it.
You would do the same as Launch Elf... rename to BOOT.ELF and copy to SaveBuilder.
This program also saves it's configuration files in the SYS-CONF directory, but it only will allow you to configure the colors of the program. It will not allow you to setup one button commands like KeyLauncher or Launch Elf.
NOTE: Launch Elf or PS2 Menu will not run from Key Launcher at the moment... incompatable... something to consider when building the Exploit. (based on KL version 0.4 , not using KL 0.5 so I don't know if it works now.)
