I am attempting to use a Gameshark 1 v5 with my v4 ps2 to boot psx backups.
The main problem that I seem to have is with the gameshark. The disc never spins down for me to swap in my backup.

I keep reading on the forum that people are successfully using a gameshark cd to swap psx backups but I'm not sure if the version I have is wrong.

Is there another way to boot my psx backups that I am missing? I use a fliptop to boot all of my games and do not have a hd.

    Thanks for the help.

You can't swap with newer version of the game shark. The older versions (2.0 and below) ask you to press eject and put in your game. That is when you would swap in your backup. The newer version eject the tray for you so the disk never stops to let you swap.
