    Watch the introduction file for this post.
    All you need is microsoft powerpoint or powerpoint viewer (don't worry no clicking it's a mini video) and something that will open zip files like Winzip
    Download the viewer at http://snipurl.com/2fz9 then open the attached file at the bottom of this page click the Forget Modchips file and your new viewer will do the rest.

    With the help of jack, shalafi, and a couple others I've been able to compose a list of all the methods for booting without a modchip from easiest to hardest. some of the easier methods won't work with all backups. I suggest trying all methods whether CDr or DVDr and the first one that works is the easiest method for that backup.(big time saver)

    * CDr Boot Method #1 *

    1. insert SwapMagic CD
    2. Once loaded replace the SwapMagic with your CDr by using the SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x
    3. Your CDr backup will boot on your PS2.

    * CDr Boot Method #2 *

    1. Insert SwapMagic CD
    2. Once loaded replace the SwapMagic CD with the CDLoader by using the SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x
    3. Once loaded, replace the CDLoader with your CDr backup and press x
    4. Your CDr backup will boot on your PS2.

    * CDr Boot Method #3 *

    1. insert the SwapMagic CD
    2. Once the SwapMagic CD has loaded do the following...
    3. Swap the SwapMagic CD with the cdloader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick
    4. Once the cdloader has loaded press eject and swap the cdloader with the SwapMagic CD and press eject to close.
    5. Wait about 7 seconds and swap the swap magic cd with your cd-r backup and press x.
    6. Your backup will now load.

    * CDr Boot Method #4 *(for CDr DVD-rips)

    1. Insert SwapMagic CD(If it doesn't work use SM-DVD)
    2. Once loaded Press Eject and replace with HDAvance CD press Eject (tray closes)
    5. Wait for the refresh of your TV-screen (it'll probably say "not a valid ps2 disc" or somethin'... doesn't really matter)
    6. Swap in CDr using the SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x
    7. your CDr boots

    * CDr Boot Method #5 * (for CDr DVD-rips)

    1. Insert SwapMagic CD (If it doesn't work use SM-DVD)
    2. Once loaded replace SwapMagic CD with CDLoader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick
    3. Once loaded press eject and replace with HD Advance 2.0 CD
    4. Once loaded replace HD with Dvd-rip (cd-r) and press x
    5. Game loads.

    * CDr Boot Method #6 *(with GS codes enabled)

    1. Insert and let Gameshark V3/4 boot
    2. Select the codes you want/if none skip this step
    3. Select Start Game
    4. The cd/dvd drive will now eject automatically.
    5. Replace the Gameshark 2 V3/4 with the swap magic cd.
    Once you have made the appropriate swap press eject to close the cd/dvd drive and press x.
    6. Once the SwapMagic CD has loaded do the following...
    7. Swap the SwapMagic CD with the cdloader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x.
    8. Once the cdloader has loaded press eject and swap the cdloader with the SwapMagic CD and press eject to close.
    9. Wait about 7 seconds and swap the swap magic cd with your cd-r backup and press x.
    10. Your backup will now load with cheats.

    * DVDr Boot Method #1 *

    1. insert SwapMagic DVD
    2. Once loaded replace the swap magic with your DVDr by using the SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x
    3. Your DVDr backup will boot on your PS2.

    * DVDr Boot Method #2 *

    1. insert SwapMagic DVD
    2. Once SwapMagic boots Replace it with the DVDLoader by using the SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x
    3. When DVDLoader is loaded, replace it with your DVDr backup.
    4. Press X on your PS2 to boot your DVDr
    5. Your DVDr backup will boot on your PS2.

    * DVDr Boot Method #3 *

    1.boot swapmagic dvd
    2.swap for dvd loader by flip/slide press x
    3.dvd loader boots press x for sub menu select the option you want press x
    4.press eject remove dvd loader and swap for swapmagic dvd or high toc orignal game press eject again(to send disc back in) and wait for it to say ps2 dvd in lower left of tv screen
    5.press x and wait for it to say swap by ea method
    6.at ea prompt swap with backup by slide/flip and press x
    7.your backup should now boot

    * DVDr Boot Method #4 *(with GS codes enabled)

    1. Boot Gameshark 2 V3/4
    2. Select the codes you want/if none skip this step
    3. Select Start Game
    4. The cd/dvd drive will now eject automatically.
    5. Replace the Gameshark 2 V3/4 with the SwapMagic CD.
    6. Once you have made the appropriate swap press eject to close the cd/dvd drive and press x.
    7. Once the SwapMagic CD has loaded do the following...
    8. Swap the SwapMagic CD with the cdloader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x.
    9. Once the cdloader has loaded press eject and swap the cdloader with a high toc original such as the SwapMagic DVD and press eject to close.
    10. Wait about 7 seconds and press x.
    11. Once the screen that says "swap dvdr by ea method" comes up swap the high toc original(swapMagic DVD) with your dvd-r backup using SlideCard/FlipTop trick and press x.
    12. Your backup will now load with cheats.

    Notes: In Method 4 of DVDr Boot Method(with GS codes enabled) and 6 in CDr Boot Method(with GS codes enabled), if you have a version 9/10 and not a version 1-8 swap the swap magic cd with the DVDLoader not cdloader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick
    and you can buy the fliptop cover for the PS2 it's not needed but quicker and easier then the SlideCard trick.

    P.S. If anybody knows of another method please let me know.THANX

    Oi! Lookin' really good there, nice Powerpoint-thingy

    If u do the "CDr Boot Method #5" and use sm-DVD to boot u need to a cogswap:
    1. Insert SwapMagic DVD
    2. Once loaded press eject and insert a Real ps2-CD game. Press Eject and wait untill it spins down
    3. replace Real Ps2 CD with CDLoader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick then press x
    4. Once loaded press eject and replace with HD Advance 2.0 CD
    5. Once loaded replace HD with Dvd-rip (cd-r) and press x
    6. Game loads.

    The above works with both sm DVD v2.0 and v3.3. So if u cant get the new SM CD v3.3 to boot (or the old v.3.0/2.0) u can use that one with your old cd-r backups.

    There's the old way (before dvdloader) of booting a DVD backup with cd-loader - when u cant boot sm CD v3.0 (this was a real timekiller):

    1. Insert SwapMagic DVD (v2.0)
    2. Once loaded press eject and insert a Real ps2-CD game. Press Eject and wait untill it spins down
    3. Replace Real Ps2 CD with CDLoader using SlideCard/FlipTop trick
    4. Once loaded press eject and replace with a real ps2 dvd
    5. Press X (and it spins down)
    6. replace Real ps2 dvd with dvd backup and press x
    7. Game loads.

    The above works with the new sm dvd v3.3 too, but u'll probably never need it if u have v3.3.

    If u only have the old SM DVD 2.0 and are havin' a hard time bootin' SM CD 3.0 u can use the SECRET way of bootin' (Known only to a few as the mighty J_A_C_K way ):

    1. Boot SM DVD v2.0
    2. Press eject
    3. Insert SM CD v3.0 and press eject (wait a few second)
    4. press X
    5. It boots and u can choose those much needed Pal/Ntsc/Special Boot options

    The above one works pretty much every time I use it on my new 50004 (and the old 3900X to). I does fail sometimes (like 10%) but its WAY better than havin' to reset 50 times to get it to boot

    We should add all our methods, remove thos that are similar, and sticky this, I think it would help some people =P

    Here's the methods I know for booting PS1 BACKUPS.

    Booting backups method #1 :
    -Insert BreakerPro disc.
    -When asked, but in your backup using swap card or flip top.
    -Press X.

    Booting backups method #2 (in case you can't get your ps2 to boot the BreakerPro disc )
    Note : You need a PS1 Gameshark. I used a version 5.
    -Insert Gameshark 1 disc.
    -Boot with no codes.
    -When asked, insert BreakerPro disc and boot it.
    -Once it's booted, insert your backup using swap card / flip-top
    -Press X to play!

    Booting backups method #3 (NOT SURE IF IT WORKS... I heard it works with older versions of PS1 Gameshark. V5.0 is too recent.)
    -Insert Gameshark 1 disc.
    -When asked, insert your game using swap card/flip top.
    -Press X to play!

    Booting backups method #4 RISKED (If you have only a recent PS1 Gameshark. Worked for me!)
    -Insert PS1 Gameshark.
    -Boot with codes/no codes. It's as you wish.
    -When asked to insert game disc, insert a random true ps1 disc.
    -Once you've closed the CD tray using Eject button, wait for the ps2 to read the disc and detect it's an official disc.
    -RAPIDLY (2 seconds max or something like that) swap the game disc for your backup using FLIP TOP COVER ONLY. Warning : The disc is still spinning!!!
    -Press X, if you're lucky, it will work.

    If you know others, add them, if there's some corrections that need to be done, send me a private message =P

    I use the PSone GS disk that came with my Gameshark V2 for Ps2! It works fine just a "painful" load with a bunch of gameshark ads!
