SanDisk has yet to fail for me. Just remember to remove the U3-Crap.
Sony MicroVault also worked fine for me (before my dog ate it)
Personally, I recommend USB hard disks instead of USB flash disks, because of the performance.

    3. quick question: where can i find the DOB of my ps2?
Almost impossible for most consoles, unless your console has a date code.

    Otherwise, you're left with guessing.

I think every PSTwo console has a datecode originally, at least all reasonably modern ones, but to most who look for a normal date it won't be obvious even when they're staring straight at it, since it consists only of the single final digit of the year, followed by a single letter from "A" through "D" for the quarter of the year.

So a v18 made in jan-march 2010 will have datecode "0A", for example. And that code is normally found somewhere in the same label area where you find the SCPH-xxxxx product code.

    Best regards: dlanor

Finally, someone who can explain how to "decode" those date codes properly.

My SCPH-77006 (And the SCPH-79006 consoles) doesn't have a date code, and it's pretty new here in Singapore.

New technology takes a long time to "travel" here.

The SCPH-900006 appeared in Singapore somewhere in 2008... (About a year late)

Maybe they have date codes, but I can't be sure since I haven't touched one (But seen them at my second hand dealer).
But the quality of their plastic cases looks really bad.

    DOB=DayOfBirth, or what?
    Yup.

Maybe we should have a forum rule that encourages members to not use too many acronyms.

Letter = Quarter of the year.
Number = Last number of the year.

How shorter and "better" you want it?

I guess, that's normal since they are produced in 2008.
Maybe there were a few out there in christmas 2007, but JAP-only thought.

Probably we need an extra-paragraph, yes.
