Its possible to watch burned DVD movies on a PS2 without a modchip or exploit. Is there someway to install a exploit this way? It can't be impossbile since the laser reads the disc, right?

Is there anyway to reach the memorycard through a PC to PS2 network? And install a exploit that way?
I'm not able to read burned cds since I've got no modchip or exploit installed..
Please let me know!

Sure it possible to transfer files from PC to pS2 via the network, but you would need the software running on the PS2 to do this.

It is the current Exploit for the PS2 and is not too difficult to install. Read thru the Tutorials on how to boot the Installer sections and find a method you might be able to use.![]()

Thanx! But, I still need a way to run burned cds or a actionreplay/CC or a exploit already.... thats the big problem.. my PS2 is totaly clean, no chip, no exploit, no nothing... but i was hoping I could install a exploit throught a PC connected.
Its kind of a catch 22 you know.. I need a exploit (or mod) to install a exploit.. or am I wrong?![]()
No.
Reading the disc is one thing, but launching any program on it is another. It can't be impossbile since the laser reads the disc, right?
The basic idea is correct, that if the CDVD reader 'sees' a DVD-Video movie disc, then it will allow any sectors and files to be read from that disc, even if it is on burned media. In fact the ESR game launcher is based on that idea. But with a stock PS2 that doesn't have any previous softmod there is no way to launch any program from any such disc, which is what you would need to do in order to install any kind of exploit.
You should check into the FreeVAST subforum of the Homebrew/Dev forum, to learn about the best softmod/exploit ever created for PS2 and PStwo consoles, the boot system named "Free McBoot" (or FMCB for short). This will allow your console to boot homebrew directly from an MC, without need for any discs at all. And there is a separately developed homebrew program known as ESR which allows you to boot backup games from burned DVD-R discs. (This is based on using a patch to trick the CDVD drive into 'seeing' those games as DVD-Video movies.)
The only tricky bit is how to install FMCB to your memory card, as that requires some way to start a homebrew anyway. Does that sound like Catch22 to you ? But don't worry, for those who can't handle the installation there is a group of volunteers who will do it for you. You just have to pay the postage both ways for sending the memory card to and from the installer. There is a separate thread about this volunteer service in the subforum I mentioned.

Not really, but there are ways around most problems, this one included.
You just need a little help from a friend, and this site can supply even that for you
Check out the reply I just made to your other thread in this subforum, and then go to the FreeVAST subforum, like I said in that reply. You will find what you need there.

How can I install a exploit on a MaxDrive, or from my Maxdrive to my MC..?
Guides? tutorials? howtos? software? anything, please!
if you need to know Im not sure what version i've got, but its a slimline.

Im assuming you mean AR Max w/Maxdrive (USB stick), but if you mean JUST the USB stick...then your gonna need the AR Max disc too.
