  1. #1 anyone experienced PS2 config w/o title.db?
    raviadso Guest
my config doesnt have one. It just contains history.db and icon.sys

I've tried both Gameshark and sharkport. Both have been done correctly and neither work.

Looks like I have an unmodded v7 PS2 although I got it at a pawn shop so it very well could have been modded. There was evidence of tampering with the case. Anyone experience this?

Don't be so nasty.. we all needed to start somewhere.. don't you remember when you were a "Retard" and needed help.

You'll have to put it on there manually. Search these forums and you will find everything you need.. you'll also need a official PS1 game.. this will become your boot disc.

You must get the disc ID from this game (e.g. SCES_XXX.XX) and insert it into the title.db or download one of the ones on the net that has a couple of hundred games ID already in it (there is a PAL and NTSC version of this file).

    EDIT:Try this

    Hope this helped a little

Yeah sorry, but there is "A new tool called search" (Thats at the top of this forum). And its usually wise to have a poke around, at least find a tutorial before you ask questions about the procedure.

I've already tried no fewer than 4 title.dbs- some of them had all PS1 titles built in, some I inserted manually with a GUI program or through DOS. I even got a package for newbies that had everything built in, and I only had to select the right region (Badata). That I did, and I installed it two ways. GS didnt do anything, but Sharkport did, and asked me if I would like to overwrite the system config. I said "yes" and it still booted the PS1 game. I checked to make sure it had overwritten by yanking it and looking at the file in savebuilder and the config looked exactly like the title.db I was trying to install.

I then purchased two other PS1 games, and neither of them worked, even though they were on the list.

All I really want to do is install the exploit so I can use the LBA patch to use all of my 200gig HDD. That is all. I currently have legitimate copies of all the software, I just dont have a mod chip that I know of.

I'm pretty certain that I've gotten the title.db thing worked out. I've tried a few methods of inserting the ID and I've even tried the packages made for dullards like myself that include all IDs.

Unless I'm really missing something, then I'm giving up.

OK...... do you have a boot app on the MC now.... you need at least these files

    BOOT.ELF
    TITLE.DB
    HISTORY.SYS

I don't remember if the icon and icon.sys files are needed... I don't think thaty they are... the icon is pulled from the BIOS ROM....

you have the MC in card slot 1 right... it only reads the system files from card in slot one.....

I tried your procedure but it won't load the exploit... loads the game...
I checked the title db you provide and used #3 it has the Tekken2 CD, I still have some of my original PS1 games...

I will try it again tonight this time I will use titledb #1 and add 6 games of mine with titleman.... Can I just use the old one or the new one comes with GUI thing?

EDIT: I found out what's wrong..(blamed title.db)..... I saved the file with ps2savebuilder as a saved game file... I redo it using my "system config file" from MC. Then it workeeedd.. it workeddddddd.

    thanks for the tutorials.........
