Looking to buy a chip for a V5 and would preffer a solderless like a DMS EZI or something but I also would consider solder type if the price is right.
keep in mind that the DMS4 EZI chips are known as ps2 killers.
was not aware of that
what does it kill?
does it do it on its own or from poor installs?
kills systems because the clips are weak and shorts pins out.
never knew that and glad I was warned prior.
what is suggested for solderless or solder type for a V5?
dms ezi chips are the only solderless ones currently 'on the market' for the ps2. if you really want a decent chip, get a modbo 4.0 or a duo 3 ultra.
But really with Free MC Boot out these days, it's virtually pointless to have a chip in a ps2 now. If I were starting ouit today, I'd do FMCB.
Hi thanks for the info I had noticed that after my last post and had PM'ed a member here a couple days ago to see if they do the install still but i have not heard anything back yet.
But I think I am going to go with FMCB
I have a brand new V5 that someone bought new and ruined a install before they even played a game and they had boxed it up and it sat since then so I got ahold of it and am putting a new V5 mobo in so I can have a pretty much new but older ps2 with a fresh laser in it.
