I'm looking to buy a ps2 50001 with matrix infinety or buy both the the chip and a 50001 and have it modded. Looking to put a hdd in the ps2. I want one to play my backups of my store bought orignals
the fat 50001 i have access to those and i don't care for the slim units to many issues. plus the fat has the hdd caddy built in

I didnt think that mame for ps2 ran good enough to play it let alone make a whole cabinet with it, and theres no point in getting that chip when you can have fmcb installed on it cheaper and easier.
It doesn't run well at all. get a PC and place it in the MAME cabinet. much better that way.Quote:

Im asking about buying a premod version 10 model 50001 with matrix infinety to play backups. Looking to buy a used premod or find a installer. I have brand new sealed unopend v10 units here.
I use to mod myself but sold my soldering station and irons years ago. Since im just needing for myself i im trying to locate some body. I use to be a member of these forums back when it was ps2news.com. I'm up to speed on everything i just don't care for the slim ps2's.
If any one wants to make some money ill pay for the install plus shipping back and forth. I mod the 360s now and sold all my soldering stuff back when the orignal xbox was fazeing out cause every oen wanted them for homebrew.
so you do know that you could install fmcb on a memory card and do everything that modchip can do plus more, with no soldering involved, and that it doesnt matter if you have a fat or slim ps2, rite?
No i did not know that what is fmcb.... I been out of the ps2 scene for a while i left right after hd loader was coming out and dmc4 was in production.

and this works same as modchip? No swaping disc to play backups ? just toss your backup in and auto boot?
