PS2NFO have released FilterX/Sjeep's ancient ZoneLoader app. For those unfamiliar with ZoneLoader, it is basically like PS2 CogSwapLoader or CD Loader as it allows you to launch "problem" PS2 games when swapped in-between the Swap Magic Discs. While this is so old that it's basically useless at this point, more interesting are their comments from the NFO file...

What's next?! Perhaps the WORLD will see what they're missing!
Why play with lame HDL/A stuff when you can rock with the SB! *G*

Who wouldn't want to run their own PS2 game server from their PC
via LAN/Ethernet and launch their PS2 images... even on PS2 v12+
units- source code as well, so the possibilities are infinite!!

Let's hope we don't have to wait two years to see that stuff appear.

LOL! Zoneloader!

I still remember this app. Sjeep was hired by Ian to create this. It was fully completed but never made it to press. The reason is that Ian couldnt get anyone besides thompson(success-hk) to press the discs for him. Since zoneloader was going to not only compete with swap magic, but also beat it. The second reasoning behind zoneloader was also to put a rift in the success/ps2ownz relationship by releasing a superior product (for its time) and exposing the lies ps2ownz had posted about swap magic. Its funny to see zoneloader on ps2ownz. Its sad to see how money changes people.

Who is Ian you may ask? He was the leader of the Xbox Pandora modchip team.

Agreed - its still blows my mind to know that peoples illusion of money and what it is (wrather than what it represents) is causing a serious decline in pride in the workplace - crappier and crappier products from previously solid companies that are making a grab for the cash and trying to make dough off their previously good "rep' or be "the first" wrather than take some pride and make good products with real customer support.

Not to mention the products that are being withheld under "planned obsolescence" plans while much better, economical solutions that consume less raw materials are put on the back shelf (ie: do you think the gas companies want a car that is truly good on gas? Where would they make money like that then? LOL)

As with anything, there are exceptions to the rule, I personally consider Xecuter products to be one of these - quality vs cash, while still being a viable product to sell and create at a reasonable cost the the end user their products are generally very excellent... and then there are exceptions in the other direction -ownzored or not.

Leaves me to ask "why oh why did swapmagic become a reality when better coders had a more viable solution in the works." It definitely could have saved the scene from some of the abuse that has been done by... them.

unfortunately the coder of this once superior app is one of "them" now.
