XorLoser today on his blog, released a real working version of Geohot's Exploit, with a proper tutorial on how to use it, and with changes he made so it should on v3.15

You can read it in full over at http://xorloser.com/blog/ if you are total Linux geek, and have a PS3 you wish to destory for research
As I’m sure everybody heard, the memory access exploit for the PS3 hypervisor was released recently by geohotz. I was finally able to replicate his hack so I thought I’d take the time to help out others who may also have trouble due to being linux n00bs like me If I were to post everything at once it would be too much work and I’d never get around to it, so I’ll post bits at a time to ensure I actually do post it heh.
As noted by "Xorloser" on his blog, he first post only covers the software side, you still need hardware to do the 40ns pulse

The good news is Xorloser looks like he coded up some working code to use an old SX28 chip to do the hardware side

I can finally dust off some of the old Magic v3.1 chips used in the olden days of PS2 and put them to use again.

Now I just need to find my Fluffy2 programmer!

well if others are doing this exploit and replicating what geohot did then any doubts about it being legit can be put aside. cool!

especially if they can do it on different firmware, which seems to be the case.

There was never any doubt about whether this was real or not.

But all the claims about what this 'so-called' hack could do was not true.

Nothing new. -- In the olden days of the PS2, the first chips, Neo 2.2 and pre-Neo were really a PS1 modchip wired to the same PS1 SX point but on the PS2, and it worked by using the GameShark disc, and it did the PS1 inject when you inserted the CD backup of a PS2 game, after removing the Gameshark disc. -- Didn't not work for DVD games, but in the early days all PS2 were on CD format anyway.
