Ive just been notified that the XCM cases have now been officiall available by major mod retailers including our sponsor Gamefreax.com. So far Silver, Clear and blue have been made available for retail.

As stated earlier in on of our other news posts. Stear clear of the cheaper, more inferior cases with no markings on the top such as the one shown below. Dont risk putting inferior cases on your console!

The HK knockoffs are not even cheaper.

Steer clear of HK knockoffs. Period.

If I had a V12, even if it was chipped I'd consider putting my system into one of these..VERY nice looking. Glad to see some quality replacement cases finally in the PS2 scene

At least the IR panel on these isnt red (like the cheap HK ones). Maybe you can add that to your description.

I recieved my case in the mail this weekend. It is not as sturdy as the original case, but no aftermarket case has yet to hold up to the factory specs. However, for $30 (www.bstconsole.com) you just cant beat trying one out.

I had to return mine due to a minor defect, but BST is taking really good care of me and ill have another to slap my PSTwo into soon.

These cases are difinatly the best aftermarket case I have yet to see for any PS2. I plan on doing a good lookin mod to my PS2 and having the clear case will show things off.

The DVD sensor cover in my clear case was a light purple, but you can easily put your original black one in there.

Maybe some people prefer no markings on their PSTwo, why is there a problem with these 'HK Knockoffs' which actually came before the XCM replacement cases. Is it only cuz that other PS2 site is advertising those 'Cheap HK Knockoffs'?

err i hate to break it to you man but it looks like the ones being sold by bstconsole are those cheap clone versions, they show no markings on them.

I was wondering the same. Though I trust the staff here at psx-scene.com than that other ps2 site, that's are just out to make a buck (there's adds all OVER there site, clearly there trying to make some money). We call there's knock off's and they call our's knockoffs. Maybe someone needs to buy both and do some test's. The Lord know's if I had money to do so, I would.

read tjtownz post and then read mine. You can also check the case mod section. The same group created some transparent non-fliptop cases some months ago. Many people werent even able to fully install their cases before parts of it broke off.
