Loading of LV2DIAG.self is softwired in the PS3 bootproces. The LV2DIAG.self we now use, is the Sony signed file that was leaked >805 days ago (from a Japanese Slim JIG?). Afaik if you need to load 'XXXX.SELF' instead of 'LV2DIAG.self' you need CFW and/or access to SYSCON flash and still need to sign your own compiled SELF properly.

right i know the LV2diag.self is sony signed there for can not be modifyes as it will break signature (my idea was recode the part that calls for LV2diag.self to look for XXX payload)

so i guess my next question would have to be softwired = what the power eject combo and it HAS TO look for the LV2DIAG.self and can not be reprogramed to load ANY other files/payloads at all what so ever?

I will be waiting and watching. I also remember a thread very similar to this was huge when PSJB announced the downgrader. Everyone said it was fake and picked the viseos apart.

I can't see an established product like X3Max risking their reputation if they didn't have what they specifically claimed(possibly not the whole "master key" part.) Though if i were them i wouldn't want to announce any details about how the exploit works either. Don't want people trying to figure out the exploit before they can even release it.

But of course time will tell.

GRR…I think I have come to a conclusion (for me at least)…Since I don't care one bit about GT5, I think if there is no X3Max 3.50 JB (or any other 3.50 JB) by Xmas time, I am gonna use my Xmas money to buy an Xbox360 so I can play NFS Hot Pursuit and Splatterhouse (those are the 2 games that I want for PS3 at this time)….plus there are a couple games on Xbox360 that I like that are exclusives…like Forza (yea, I do prefer Forza over GT5, strictly for the mechanical damage aspect of Forza) and Project Gotham Racing as well as Fable

if a game is encripted with this "master key" then the ps3 has to be able to decript them...if it could decript them and u find out how then logically u could find out the unecncripted data...work backwords and find the "master key"...am i wrong...i may be just a theory ...sorry little smiley happy

Math has been wrong more than right ever since the 1st jailbreak story was released. I just assume he is behind one of the companies and does not want it released openly until he makes his money so he tries to throw people off the truth

It's a little bit more complicated than that.

This is a lil off topic but can any one point me to or tell me 100% how the jailbreak works? I know there was a leaked sony service manual but i cant find it anywere.

Also how will sony repair ps3 that are updated to 3.55 if they closed the hole for unofficial usb jigs? Maybe x3 has somehow copied the official jig or as they says master key to allow them to run a jialbreak on 3.5 because there donge is running as an official sony one?

math was wrong at the time when he said stuff yes. but look its all come true. games started using new keys like he said. psn would be takin away using the method he said.

ive talked to him today and know alot more about stuff in doing so. this isnt possible. 3.50 is closed tighter then a nuns...... theres no usb exploit in 3.50

If you think about it for just a second its BIG BUSINESS, if i was to offer a tech @ sony $50k to give me info on how to Jailbreak 3.5X then how many dongles would they have to sell to make a profit.... @ $35 = 1428.... not that many.... now imagine if they had to pay someone $100k... Big corrupt business.... hence why they take longer to release - create as much hype as they can - lets face it... they have created a huge hipe - wheater you believe it or not - your still talking about it..

if i had a spare 100k to invest i'd do the same.... bribe a sony employee and get what you need.... and sell these dongles and 'hopefully make a profit!'
