X3MAX finally releases a Downgrader!

Like I said before, they prolly released downgrader cause so many have requested it. Everyone does not want 3.5x JB but are happy with downgrade to 3.15 or so.

There are only a ferry few people who want to do that with their X3Max. Almost everybody in the scene knows somebody with another jailbreak device. I, for example, have downgraded 3 PS3's from friends to 3.41 with the original psjb in the beginning of the downgrader. And the other devices have the downgrader for a longer time so almost everybody who wanted to go back is already back.

And the downgrade process isn't something someone wants to do daily. For most of the people it is a one time downgrade and they stay on that firmware. My friends for example again have no need for a downgrader after I downgraded their PS3.

But on the other hand, all devices have the downgrader so to keep in line with the competition the X3Max has to have it too

X3Max has finally caught up, with the rest of the chips on the market. Today they released a 3.50 downgrade/service mode update for their X3Max dongle. For those planning to downgrade, Logic-Sunrise, is reporting that Blu-Ray playback is not lost when using the x3Max downgrade. X3Max has also provided an easy to follow tutorial, for anyone unfamiliar with the downgrading process.

I wonder how many noobs will trust any team, as everybody claim : dg with our dongle and u will Not loose bd playback...

I will say it again. The only units affected by the Problem are fat ps3 with 256mb of RAM. Since every is testing with slim or fats with 16mb, it doesnt wonder why everybody claim u wont loose...

In fact, if u have a ps3 with serial < CECHHxx, it maybe gas the Old 256mb, and u WILL DEFINATLY LOOSE BD Playback ....

So its up to everybody himself to take the risk or not...
But if u want to dg a slim, u can pick any downgrade solution, and u should not support x3max as long as they dont support us.

The only Team i will recommend is ps3yes. Cause they give the community back from what they profit... thumbs-up ps3yes

I have a slim 160gb on 3.50 and an X3Max.

Couple of newb questions:

1. How do I backup teh /dev_flash2 and /dev_flash3 folders? I suspect I boot up with the X3Max dongle in factory service mode and copy them off to a thumbdrive. Do I need software for this data transfer?

2. Because I have a slim, do I even need to worry about it? I do very much want my blueray as it is the primary blue ray player of our house.

3. The instruction guide says "Plug the dongle in and follow normal jailbreaking procedure"...Where do I find that?

1. -- Sadly you can only backup those two folders with jailbroken ps3 running on v3.15 or v3.41

2. -- You have a slim so it should be no problem in downgrading, but be warned you will most likely see your whole 160gb HDD reformat, so best to back it up first using the normal backup feature if you have any good save files, etc.

3. -- That means you have your slim unplugged at the back, no power at all, plug in the dongle, plug in the ac cord, and then press power and quickly follow it by pressing eject.

In getting #3 right, you need to have no disc in the drive, and nothing plug in to the usb ports except for the dongle itself, and press eject within less then a second after you had press the power.
