IF THEY HACK 3.5 SO what is the benefit of downgrade ????

Getting back to 3.15 so you can run OtherOS. It was a request from the users. Not everyone wants to play GT5 you know.

Even if the 3.50 jailbreak is a fake, the dongle itself is terrific. I got mine for $20, and for those $20 I got a case that makes it safer to use, a SDHC slot for future use and the possibility to use lots of different payloads, you don't have to wait for someone to make it work on your device.

With the portability of PSgroove/PSfreedom & PSgrade, only my cooling cabinet and microwave doesn't know howto jailbreak the PS3 (my fridge however has an AVR that can be reprogrammed with TimWu branches of PSgroove PSgrade/JIG and the doorbell is PIC based, so that won't be a problem too )

Man i thought i was the only one with a comcast cable box controller/ps3 jailbreak device.....

I will say it again. The only units affected by the Problem are fat ps3 with 256mb of RAM. Since every is testing with slim or fats with 16mb, it doesnt wonder why everybody claim u wont loose..." I have the "phat" PS3 from the metal gear solid 4 80GB bundle. It sits in the family theatre room so I can't downgrade it. (It's "primary" function is BD playback). I guess I have to sit and hope that the x3 team really does have a 3.50 break because if they don't I'm kinda screwed here. I think I'll leave it on 3.5 a while longer though just incase.

In fact, if u have a ps3 with serial < CECHHxx, it maybe gas the Old 256mb, and u WILL DEFINATLY LOOSE BD Playback ....

I`m only a noob but after reading up on it all I`m a little confused on why people are still believing that X3 could be telling the truth. If they have copied everything so far off other people then why would they of magically of come up with there own solution for 3.5. For the excuse that they are worried it`ll be cloned so their holding back on releasing it, why would they risk losing money on the chance that someone else hacks 3.5 and releases it first?

Here is just a quick hypothetical situation for you guys. If you were to release a 3.50 jailbreak that requires you to downgrade first then update, this is how you would do it. First release a downgrade file that allows your device to downgrade freely. Then release your own hacked/signed .PUP file that can only be installed with your device. The downgrade process is already known so releasing it now is just to play catch up and stop criticism. Likely a closed process, downgrade and update without removing the device. The modified signed 3.50 update.pup file is the prestige.

hint: factory installed 2gb card on all new dongles. The downgrade process doesn't use it.

we aren't hoping for anything.. just waiting to see what they have to say after what they had previously announced.. everyone including myself is skeptical about this because of time, encryption etc if they don't it wouldn't make such a difference (just lose rep) if they do then great.

Waited a long time for PSPgroove, for my Android Samsung Galaxy S, for my Ipod G3, for my dreambox DM800 linux sat receiver and also for my first PS3 to jailbreak my second PS3.

Still no luck atm, although I have high quality devices enough.

So I had to buy a dongle. As I am really happy with the PS3 jailbreak I bought the original to support their hard work (..). Bad side it was delivered a few weeks after PSgroove was available so I was already walking behind. And no updates for payloads from them so I decided to go for the X3Max because of the sdhc slot and 128k flash.

all people here are crying about the costs of the dongle. Well, a dongle gives me more hours of pleasure experimenting etc. than a game that costs 60 euro's. So what is the point about not buying a little expensive dongle if a game is more expensive? I have several PS3 game BD's here I played once or twice and after that I started playing another game. They have costed me more and I have less fun.

I can buy a cheap racing game for my PS3 and I can buy GT5. Both times I have a racing game. Some people have more hours of joy and fun with their cheap racing game than others with GT5 or the other way around. Some want quality, some don't.

I suppose anything is possible relating to the X3 team. We should accept that. One possibility is they have a kit and they have access to security knowledge that the open community does not.

Most hacks do start as leaks from inside the manufactures themselves.
So I hope to high heaven that X3 does have something. I bought one based on their 3.5 claims. But come on people, I drop lots of money on all of this shit and have for more than 20 years. I buy consoles, handhelds, games, gadgets, add ons, online services, subscription services, mod gear, flashcarts, PC tech, Mac tech, camera and video shit, networking stuff, catv stuff, security stuff......you probably get my point if you are remotely like me and I guess many of you that aren't pups are. The point is if I wasted 40 bucks on an X3 that won't matter much. If these guys are scammers they won't be the first.

I like the people with optimistic conspiracy theories the best. I am with you guys...I hope they do release a 3.5JB or custom pup. I have a device in hand and ready to use with whatever they release. I will reserve judgement for a while because they seem to be trying to build a superior product. The dongle itself is solidly constructed. The WP switch seems useless but won't be if Sony starts trying to nuke your JB dongle. The internal card slot also seems dumb, but not say if you are going to boot an alternate firmware from that card and they don't want you yanking out while it is in use. It takes time to dev tools and such so it makes sense that they got their V2 tool out, then the downgrade, next supposeduly sd activation for earlier dongles, then maybe all their evil plans come together and they give us 3.5JB of CF. Time will tell and if they are LAME then so what because someone else will come up with working solutions for our current problems.

I still say we get a 3.5 game loader before we get a 3.5 CF or JB!

Also I say who cares.....I am really enjoying Valkyria Chronicals right now and have lots to play thru xmas. The only thing I really want on 3.5 in sly trilogy and that's a ps2 rehash.

So everyone chilll........or don't (I have no choice living in the N) but atleast be greatful for all the things that we can do with a modded system
