X-Change V2 Released! –
Shogun2K1 sends word that obocaman has released a great tool that allows you to upload and manipulate Xport(sharkport) V2 gamesave files. His tool requires execftps to be running on the ps2 side. You may also need the Borland runtime files located Here and Here.
Once again thanks to Shogun2K1 Original X-Change V2 Thread
Interesting, am I correct in thinking this just strips the individual files out of the save and sends them to the PS2 via the execFTPs connection?
Quite a good idea but alas falls foul of the GTA issue with execFTPs if so :-/
you can use it with launch elf too. I've had this program for a month or so now and its much better than x port if you have a network adapter
Yeah this looks like it just unpacks the xport files and sends them on their merry way to your mc through ftp. Wish he had support for codebreaker and max saves. this would still rock.

Jesus Christ is the most important person who lived on this earth. he died on a cross 2005 years ago. for sinners to be saved.
Not to be "that guy," but I think I might be missing something here. There is a program on ps2savetools.com called PS2 Save Builder. Using this program, I have always been able to strip all of the files from a GameShark save (or any other format actually, put them all into a folder (I believe the title of the folder should be what appears in the line that reads " Root/ID"), and then take that entire folder and upload it to the root folder of my memory card using ExecFTPs and FlashFXP. Once I turn on my PS2, it is then a useable game save. I do also have the sharkport, but find it so much easier to transfer using ExexFTPs, since the Gameshark likes to not make a solid connection so often.
It sounds like this tool is doing the exact same thing. Not that isn't useful, but unless it's doing something else that I'm missing, the capability has been there for quite a while.
Yes, the "preserved" attribute is not set so you can't restore any of the GTA saves. I tested it with a few of my older X-port saves. Of course, I was unable to get X-Change v2 to backup any of the following saves:

The program uses ps2ftpd to download/upload the files to/from the tmp directory. It archives the files into a Datel X-port XPS save file when downloading saves to the pc from the ps2 memory card.
I tried ps2savebuilder on the XPS file and it usually crashed or didn't find any files in the XPS archive. I can only assume that the XPS archives it makes are somewhat corrupted. So I wouldn't trust X-Change v2 over my X-port or the powerfull PS2SaveBuilder.
