i can tell you that ive worked on this for almost 4 hours now and this WILL NOT INSTALL geohots jailbreak and therefore im left with an almost useless ps3 compared to what i had.

im on a phat 40gb (cechG01) with upgraded hd

steps i took are as follows:
- updated to 3.55ofw from 3.41 via usb xmb (downloaded from eurasia.com) non inc version
- updated to wutangrza via recovery mode. (xmb told me i already had that version)
- tried to install geohots cfw patch via xmb and get (an error has occured. 8002F99D)
- tried to install geohots cfw via recovery and get (8002F2B5)

i know at one point i had a problem getting the right md5 of geohots patch but finally d/l'ed a version that came out at B813FF51300C42D7C3B96992EDFD6746
(EDIT) ... all my hashes are equal to the above post for md5 verifications

i gone back and forth from official and wutang firmwares continuing to try all angles to get this thing installed. i feel out of options. any suggestions?

Are you running lv1dumper or lv2protectionremove?

My ps3 is on Gehot cfw.
1. I used recovery to try and install ofw 3.55. ( all was a success, I guess it worked because my *pkg Installer folder was gone)

2. Installed Wutangrza via recovery as well, XMB said I was on the latest. (The install was a success, however I do not see a *pkg install folder.

3. Installed Geohot cfw again, and ran the level 1 and level 2 pkg's.

I think Im doing something wrong...I was under the impression I was supposed to see my "app_home*" folder back after the installs??
Can someone help me plz?

Plus every release has a big fat warning sign that says "use at your own risk." So if anyone is to blame it's the users who were stupid enough to update to it without doing the research.

I'm not gonna even try for at least a month. Probably longer. Maybe around the time I can get a used ps3 for $100 or less. That's what I did for the xbox.

Im still on 3.41 so im not 100% sure but someone said that the app home icon does not appear on this firmware
