WIP: Dumping the PSDowngrade USB Traffic!
WIP: Dumping the PSDowngrade USB Traffic! –
Hansi a long-time valued member of PSX-SCENE has spent huge chunk of his personal money, in buying a very special USB Analyzer called the Beagle!
In his first day of playing around this new wonderful toy of his, he used it of course to make a dump of the normal PS3KEY boot-up and later on which is the main reason for all this fancy hardware the PSDowngrade
PSDowngrade / Ps3 jig USB traffic protocol scan
Hardware Used: Beagle USB 480 Protocol Analyzer Support - Total Phase
You need to use Beagle Data Center Software
to be able to read the attached dumps.
One file is a normal PS3KEY
boot, the other is a PSDowngrade
is supposed to be encrypted
and NOT analyzeable
according to a distributor!
But maybe something can be learned anyway.
Hopefully some good things will come out of this in a few days by our many talented payload developers we have right here on PSX-SCENE!
Our many thanks to Hansi for spending his hard-earned cash on this project and helping out everyone!

Reason: Got premission to post, and formatted for front page!
they can't encrypt the usb traffic if they do that the ps3 can't understand.
glad to see the scene moving forward! good work!
Good to see i'm not the only one with a messy workshop.
Great news indeed !
WTG Hansi much appreciated now lets hope someone can make use of the info.
so this can lead to a public psdowngrade payload?
Holy crap, did I read that right, the USB analyzer cost $1200
if the files are encrypted, then there's not much use for it =x
How could they encrypt the USB traffic? The PS3 wouldn't know how to decode it.
