I just picked up a 2nd slim ps3 yesterday. Move/Netflix on the box, and it's a 160gig model. Came with 3.40. Purchased in NH (yay taking advantage of no sales tax).

The firmware version wasn't important to me, as this ps3 was to be my legit 3.50 ps3. (Yes, i broke down for GT5....)

Not quite. You would have to downgrade from 3.50 first befire jailbreaking your ps3. (3.41 and below.. 3.41 has the most hacks and exploits)

well first off... it is easy to see from the box... all the systems that mention the 3D games or blue ray support is beyond 3.41

Interesting that the GT5 bundle came with a 3.42 firmware PS3 when the game itself requires an update to 3.50….so u have to update the machine with the disk just to play the game that came with the system….THEN install the game…kinda sucks

Sony still didn't win. we CAN STILL use the downgrader the "revive" the JB exploit.

Sony have won, were not on PSN and games developed with 3.50 SDK don't work, hopefully though those 2 problems will be sorted out sometime, then again ths ps3 scene may just die it pretty much has anyway.

It's interesting to note that perhaps the whole 'unhacked GT5/3.50' thing will drive many double purchases from those who have a JB'd ps3, simliar to how MS did with all those shitty RROD consoles (Of which I used to own, but I never rebought another as I didn't feel like rewarding MS for crap quality control, however I'd gladly buy another PS3 for my other TV/extra 3D blu Ray player and to play any new games that can't be hacked).
