WARNING: 3.42/3.50FW consoles spotted in the wild!

I was surprised this post was made now. I thought everybody already knew about this.

My friend bought a brand new 160 Gb console from Singapore somewhere around October 25th, 2010,

I agree, I thought this was already implied. When I saw the front page post I thought at first it meant 3.42 had been cracked (CFW?), what a disappointment

no its no missleading, the WARNING: wasnt enough of a giveaway that this was about
the 3.41 consoles now being the norm to find in stores?

Interesting that the GT5 bundle came with a 3.42 firmware PS3 when the game itself requires an update to 3.50

It's not that interesting. Consoles take longer to produce and transport than discs. So the 3.41 consoles take longer to get through the pipeline than pressing a disc with 3.50.

Im in aus when ozmodchips released the first vids i brought a 250gb console with 3.21 i think, a few weeks later my brother got a 120gb one with his tv which also had the same fw then i saw the new 160gb and 320gb models around and my best mate brought one to try get in on the action and it had 3.42 on it that was close to a month ago i just figured they had released the 160/320's to fix jailbreaking as all the 120/250gb models disappeared overnight...i know they didnt sell them all that fast an in every shop i went to.

I bought ps3slim 160gb with gt5 :P in pc world UK last Wednesday (24.11.10) and it came with 3.40 and I was actually surprised that it has still 3.40. I'll post box details later :It has 3.50 now so I can play gt5 as I think that until someone decrypts sony's encrypted files we won't be able to play any new games

you can downgrade it still but it just means that you have to pay more

My mrs bought me a new 320g Slim "Move" bundle 3 weeks ago and that came with 3.40. Its now 3.50 as i have a 160g Fat for Jailbreak. Im in the uk btw.
