In every good action, lurks a dark motive. Piracy is always going to be a motivation for console unlocking no matter what anyone says. But some people honestly do not support it at all. I find most people use the ability to pirate in a good way. For example, if someone sees a game they like but don't want to risk it because of the price tag, they walk away. With this, people can download and play for free. Now if they have good intent, they will buy the game to support its developers if its a truely great game. Same deal with priated movies. I downloaded "Wolverine" but i went to the cinemas the next week to watch it, firstly because i wanted the cinematic experience, but also to support it as a film. So i think everyone should give piracy a rest? Some will use it for good, some will use it for bad. Nothing negative said here is going to change anyones mind about how they use piracy.

I am very sure that is going to be the first thing that will happen as soon as linux is available on PS3 for the masses, which is going to be very soon i would imagine.

Couldn't agree with you more, damanptyltd. I personally bought 6 games over the last 3 months, and have no intention of stopping. Good games deserve the developers appreciation. Problem is lots of companies release shitty games, and I'm being gentle here by saying "shitty". By the time people realize that, their money is already gone.

KaKaRoTo said some very cool and wise things in his latest interview (look at his twitter account), I really think he nailed that piracy issue.

I think they should bring back hardware type games like the old sega megadrive/Snes, they only put games onto discs cuz it was cheaper them to knock em out and make even more money. Or maybe a small piece of hardware to go with each game! lets face it they load quicker and would be harder to imitate, this is on future consoles of course. I just dont wanna see less companies making good games cuz they aint makin the money for em.

Their hacks for the Iphone and so on was also for piracy. You can call it Cydia or SIMcard unlocking, its still piracy in right terms. To go around created fences from the big companies.

And your explaination of "backup games"... don't make me laugh. We know better.
Show balls to speak the truth.
Most of these hackers (fail0verflow team/geohot level) could easily be pulling six-figure salaries in the IT industry (I think geohot already does IT consulting). I doubt they give a flying **** about having to pay for games. I doubt they even play very many games. And fail0verflow made the Wii homebrew channel, not the "WiI s00p3R War3Z d0wn10Ad s1Te."
